Spring Black Bear 2026 Preview

The 2026 Spring Black Bear Season is just around the corner.

Starts and Stops and Start Again

Some warm weather in late March and early April had some early bears out on the prowl and crossing paths with our trail cams. The start of the season, the end of hibernation, the bears leaving their dens in search of food, has had re-start this year. Then it turned white, twice. Two Spring snow storms pushed the bears back into their dens and are just now coming out in force to search for food and bulk up after the long winter.

Options Open

Most people would say that we run more baits than are needed but we like the options. While we have hunters in search of big bears positioned over one set of baits, we have fresh untouched stands under surveillance for when we need them.

Hard at Work

The bear season preparation starts long before the first hunters, well before the first group arrival.

We have loaded up on the assortment of treats for our bait collection. So far we have beavers in the freezers ready to go from a set of traps set collecting the premium bait source. As well we have 100's of lbs of candy, barrels of oats and vegetable oil ready to tempt the bears to the bait barrels and have them stick around for a good feed.

Stay in Touch

We are planning an update of our 2026 Black Bear Season following the season. Stay tuned for more news and more bear pics.
