Black Bear Hunting

We hunt in a territory that has experienced extremely low hunting pressure for the past 10 years. The Black Bear have been virtually free to roam the territory without risk of being shot. That means we have a strong population of healthy trophy Black Bear waiting for you.  Located on the forest fringe, we hunt a mix of farmland-edge sites as well as some locations in deeper bush. This provides the bears a number of available food sources and protection from harsh weather when needed for a strong and healthy bear population.

Thanks to our pre-season scouting efforts, we have been able to determine the best potential locations for our blinds and bait stands. We seek out the trails and corridors where the Black Bear most often travel, always on the look out for the boars eager to follow the sows to the bait sites.

We position our hunters in the tree stands with the most active stands ensuring the highest probability of shooting a trophy animal.  When requested by the hunter, we will position the hunter in a ground blind. We will have 8 to 10 bait sites actively being maintained throughout the season. We take a maximum of 4 bear hunters per group in camp.

We make extensive use of trail cams, reviewing images from our 15 Tactacams on a daily basis.

For our fall Black Bear season, we have 6 Black Bear tags tags. We operate with 1 or 2 hunters per guide.

We take a max of 5 hunters per group.

Black Bear Trail Cams

The hunt day starts with a leisurely breakfast provided at camp. Bear hunting is an early afternoon through the evening hunt so in the morning the guides will be baiting stands and viewing trail cameras for the evening hunt. After lunch at camp we will begin loading up for transport to the stands by truck and ATV. All stands are within a 5 mile drive of the lodge. You will be provided a bagged snack which you can enjoy in your stand as you hunt until the end of legal shooting time. Your guide will be just a short phone call away and will come to your stand for the retrieval when you harvest your animal. Please stay in the stand until your guide arrives on site. The animal will be skinned however you want for trophy prep.  You will be picked up by your guide with ATV and driven back to the lodge for a home cooked meal.
